Injection therapy
Injection therapy includes the injection of steroids or medication to the specific or general area of pain. Many times being muscles or joints.
Some injections work by blocking pain receptors or nerve endings which cause pain.
Some common injections: epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, sacroiliac joint steroid injections, lumbar sympathetic block, trigger point injections, medial branch nerve blocks, ablations, and botox injections.
When injection therapy should be considered
Injection therapy can treat:
- Chronic back pain
- Chronic neck pain
- Headaches
- Arthritis or other joint pain
- Inflammation and more!
First, conservative therapies must be tried and failed such as:
- Physical therapy
- Chiropractic therapy
- Acupuncture
- Home exercise program
- Massage and/or
- TENS unit
Lifestyle changes must also be made first such as:
- Improving diet
- Quitting smoking
- Stretching/exercising
- Stress reducing techniques (meditation, etc)

Injection therapy is minimally invasive and has a low chance of risk compared to surgery. Injection therapies offered at Revive Pain Management are outpatient services.
